The Friends of the Rock Garden’s AGM took place on Wednesday 24 September at 2 pm, at THE BROOK, 343 Brook St. Broughty Ferry.
The retiring chairman, John Growcott was thanked sincerely by the attendees present and presented with a gift from the ‘Friends’ in recognition of his 9 years of service as Chair. John had been actively involved since the formation of the Friends of Barnhill Rock Garden. He says that he will continue to involve himself, mainly in the Nursery area.
Mrs Ann Taylor was elected as the new Chairperson. Ann has been our Vice Chair for some years and has played an important role over the years in promoting the garden as a learning resource for mainly local children and has taken a leading role in securing funding and co-ordinating various agencies to enable the long awaited refurbishment of the ponds and the associated water feature to be commenced on site.
Jill Gartland was elected as a new member of the committee, the remaining committee were re-elected.
