The Friends of Barnhill Rock Garden and various local funders have raised the necessary funds to completely refurbish the pumped water supply to the series of ponds in the garden.
This unfortunately entailed the complete replacement of the out of date buried electricity supply cables and replacement and refurbishment of the pumps. The result is a pleasing vista of flowing water cascading between a series of ponds, via meandering channels and under the recently replaced bridge, from the top pond in the trees down to the lower ponds close to the public footpath adjacent the esplanade.
The work was completed in the late autumn and after the risk of frosts has passed the pumps will operate again daily during the daytime.
